Swetha Ramachandran joined CGIAR’s Standing Panel on Impact Assessment (SPIA) in 2025. She is an evaluation practitioner and applied researcher with a keen interest in evidence-based policymaking. Her work focuses on developing approaches to measure and monitor evidence uptake and policy influence.
Before joining SPIA, Swetha worked as a Methodologist at UNIDIR and as an Evaluation and Capacity Building Consultant with the ILO in Geneva. She has also held evaluation roles in Sierra Leone, Lesotho, South Sudan, and the Democratic Republic of Congo, leading evidence generation, dissemination, and learning across diverse contexts.
Swetha holds a PhD in Political Science from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies (IHEID) and a Master’s in International Economics and Conflict Studies from Johns Hopkins SAIS. Her research has been published in various policy outlets and academic journals. Originally from Chennai, India, she speaks English, Hindi, Tamil, French, and some Spanish.
