CGIAR Center External Reviews (CERs) are a revitalized assurance mechanism providing comprehensive, independent and learning-oriented assessments of CGIAR Centers. CERs examine Centers’ strategy, research-for-development performance, governance, management and organizational fitness, as well as their contribution to the CGIAR Integrated Partnership.

CERs are not audits or compliance inspections. They are designed to support institutional learning and continuous improvement, while providing proportionate assurance to Center Boards and strengthening accountability across CGIAR.
