Jenny C. Aker is the Daniel G. Sisler Professor of Development Economics at Cornell University. She is also a Research Professor at the Fletcher School (Tufts University), a Non-Resident Fellow at the Center for Global Development (CGD) and the co-Chair of the DigiFI Initiative at J-PAL. After working for Catholic Relief Services as Deputy Regional Director between 1998 and 2003, Jenny completed her PhD in agricultural economics at the University of California-Berkeley. Jenny works on economic development in Africa, with a primary focus on the impact of information on development outcomes, particularly in the areas of agriculture and agricultural markets, environmental technologies, adult education and financial inclusion. Jenny has conducted field work in a number of countries in Africa and Latin America.
