Julio Barros is a Pre-Doctoral Fellow at SPIA, based at the Paris School of Economics, where he assists SPIA’s Chair Karen Macours. He previously held research positions at the Climate Policy Initiative and Columbia's Center on Global Energy Policy and a teaching assistantship for Environmental Economics.

His research interests lie in the intersection of hard and social sciences, specifically Environmental & Resources Economics.

He holds a master's degree from Columbia University's school of public policy with a focus on Energy & Environment and Quantitative Analysis, and a Bachelor of Economics from PUC-Rio.
